Finally I’ve finished the second release of EnFlash Gallery.

You can see
You can download and use it to your galleries.

It’s open source and it’s under GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE.
Read README to know how to install EnFlash Gallery.

EnFlash Gallery almost ready

It’s an Open Source Flash Gallery, based on EnFlash Framework.

SWFMILL 0.2.8 release

We have a new release by SWFMILL 0.2.8 release

Changes:

here’s the list of updates:
* support for importing SWFs with DefineFont2/3, DefineButton2,
DefineSound and StartSound tags;
* support for SetScriptLimits and SetTabIndex;
* support for 8bit palette or grayscale PNGs;
* support for DefineBitsJPEG3 (importing a jpeg and 8bit mask PNG),
* support for PlaceObject2 events (string/double/boolean),
* experimental component import,
* parse #rrggbbaa colors correctly,
* export font ID if font is placed in library,
* remove unnecessary MovieClip level for SWF import,
* various fixes for size calculation, glyph shapes, and more,
* preparations for basic SVG conversion,
* reorder codebase and clean up

some hints for new features:
* the 8bit PNG import works just like for other PNGs, color depth is automatically detected.
* to get JPEGs with alpha channel, you have to provide the (alpha-less) jpeg image and its (8bit grayscale PNG) mask separately, like so:

* for the experimental component import, see an example on

* SetScriptLimits and SetTabIndex remain untested.

MTASC-1.09 linux binary

Download MTASC-1.09 linux binary.

Changes:

fixed problems in escape sequences such as \t
fixed problem with “delete”
more strict checks of interface fields : same type and structure and
not only unifiable
allowed variance on interface fields implementation
-keep with -separate replace compiled packages
added check for file name case on Win32
changed -main and algorithm for updating SWF
added -version X (removed -flash6)
added Flash8 headers

FAME, AMFPHP and NetConnection Debugger works on Linux

I found a good example how works FAME and AMFPHP 1.0

And how use NetConnection Debugger.swf with ECLIPSE

When use a NetConnection Debugger.swf you must do this changes

modify in 2 places on Macromedia Remoting Classes

1. In row 93 on mx.remoting.debug.GlobalLocalConnection

change

var suc:Boolean = true;

var suc = true;

2. and in mx.remoting.debug.commands.GetConfig

create contsructor and put super() there

and remove from GetConfigCommand() method super().

Thats is all to work on Linux )

added deprecated keywords usage error.

Question: Can you Flash Developers migrate on Linux ?
Answer : YES

This example explains how.

The software you need is:

ECLIPSE
ASDT
MTASC
SWFMILL

1. Eclipse is a kind of universal tool platform - an open extensible IDE for anything and nothing in particular. Eclipse use a java and you must have it installed in your Linux(BSD) , in my case I use a fedora 3 release , You can also see some instructions in How to Install JAVA on Fedora.

2. ASDT - A plugin for the popular Eclipse platform to work with ActionScript 2 files. It should provide such features like code coloring, code folding, code completion, outlining, refactoring .

3. MTASC is the first ActionScript 2 Open Source free compiler.

4. SWFMILL is a tool to process Shockwave Flash(TM) (SWF) files. It can convert SWF from and to an XML-dialect called “swfml”, which is closely modeled after the SWF file format.

5. Flashout is eclipse plugin for viewing and logging SWF in eclipse. Flashout is great addition if you use eclipse Actionscript 2 plugin and MTASC compiler.

Unfortunately it does not work on Linux and is not available in Open Source FlashOut in the moment.
